Somewhere Savard is Smiling - Cooke Knockout!

The Hockey Gods always have their say...

After Matt Cooke of the Pittsburgh Penguins, made a cheap hit to the head of Boston Bruins centerman, Marc Savard earlier this season and wasn't penalized or suspended something had to be done.

When the Bruins laid an egg against the Penguins in their next matchup with the only highlight, a Shawn Thorton fight against Cooke about 37 seconds into the game, partial retribution was had. Although, Savard, has yet to see any ice time since he suffered a Grade 2 concussion from the cheap shot.

It wasn't until the last weekend of the regular season that the Hockey Gods decided it was time for retribution in the form of Atlanta Thrashers, Rookie Left Wing, Evander Kane, who came across with a thunderous right hook to the jaw of Cooke that turned him into a wet noodle on the ice.

If you're a fan of hockey fights, the Bruins and Savard, and wanted some retribution, here it is.

My new favorite player is Evander Kane... and I'm going to look on the schedule to see when the Thrashers come to town so I can give him a Standing Ovation!
